Dear Common Sense,We are responsible for some of the material you have objected against and understand how you might have been offended. From our posters, you have come to the conclusion that we promote ignorance, intolerance, and indifference towards human suffering! The sarcastic nature of our posters is a satire on the troubles of the world as well as inflated political diatribe. If you want to make someone look bad, find some flimsy way to link him or her to the death of millions of people. In your case, you somehow forgot to compare us with Hitler! Oh my! As well as condemning the stupidity and cruelty that sometimes seems to dominate humanity, we also seek to criticize those who self-righteously rave about third world horrors. You have supplied us beyond our hopes with an example of the demagoguery that we seek to ridicule. We understand that you are now basking in the glory of denouncing our very very dirty posters, but we ask that you remove the shining halo that you have placed on your head and reconsider our work.
Do you think about respect for human suffering regularly? Do you beat yourself with a stick as you imagine millions of people dying? Is your sense of empathy so much greater than ours that it is your duty to denounce us? Have our posters made human suffering trivial? Even if you can answer yes to these questions, do you think about the microorganisms that are killed solely for your self-preservation? You homocentric nut! Sincerely yours,The Mad Postists
P.S. We agree with you that we are not ‘humoristic.’ We do, however, strive to be humorous.
P.P.S We have been rather rude in the above letter. If you, common sense, have been offended, we ask that, in the future, you confer with us in a more polite and rational manner.
